Projects

Projects developed by IFT

Instituto Floresta Tropical (IFT) is a center of excellence in promoting and improving multiple-use forest management in the Amazon. Over the past 20 years, IT has been developing actions geared at capacity-building, development and training of professionals, decision makers, students and representatives of forest communities on forest management practices. IFT operates in partnership with various sectors that provide financial support to the activities developed in the Amazon.

In 2006, IFT was recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a Civil Society Organization of Public Interest (OSCIP). Founded in 2002, it stemmed from the work of Fundação Floresta Tropical (FFT), established in the Amazon since 1994 as a subsidiary of American NGO Tropical Forest Foundation (TFF) in Brazil.
